Hello,

Sorry for the last minute notice but I wanted to let you know that the WWII Warbird group is having a meeting tonight, Wednesday evening, May 20th, at the Stockton Field Aviation Museum at 7pm.

From the WWII Warbird Group President, John Schippers:

Our next meeting will be Wednesday May 20 at 7 PM at Stockton Field Aviation Museum, 7432 CE Dixon St, Stockton Metro Airport, Stockton, CA.

Our speaker will be Colonel Clarence ' Bud' Anderson, USAF (Ret.) WW II P-51 fighter pilot with 16 aerial victories. Bud enlisted in the Army Air Corps in January 1942 a month after Pearl Harbor. A year before he was at Sacramento City College and in the Civilian Pilot Training Program. After flight school he was assigned states side to a training unit flying P-39 Ariacobras. He first flew the P-51 Mustang in England, assigned to the 357th Fighter Group in the 8th AF. About a year later he was becoming a triple Ace flying "OLD CROW" on two combat tours. He flew 116 missions and never had to abort which he attributes to the quality of the P-51 and to his outstanding ground crews. Bud stayed in the AF and retired after 30 years as a full Colonel. During this time he flew as a test pilot, commanded an F-86 squadron in Korea and a wing of F-105’s on Okinawa and at age 48 flew 25 missions as a wing Commander in Thailand during the Vietnam War. In the annals of flying Bud ranks witch the best and the reputation as a great human being. Come out Wednesday and bring a friend.

Our Warbird Group meetings are held at the Stockton Field Aviation Museum 7432 CE Dixon St., Stockton Metro Airport, on the third Wednesday of each odd month at 7 PM. This means that the meetings are in January, March, May etc on the third Wednesday. Please join us as there is no admission charge. We also have an annual BBQ during the meeting in September and that meeting time is usually an hour early at 6 PM.

You will find driving directions below or you can visit our web site for more information at http://www.twinbeech.com.
For more information about the WWII Warbird Group you can visit: http://www.twinbeech.com/warbird_group_page.htm.
If you know anyone who might be interested in coming to this, or any future meetings, please forward this notice to them. If you would like to be placed on, our e-mail list just let me know and I will be glad to do so.

Thanks and I hope to see you at the meeting,
Taigh

He signed an 8x10 of that last one when I interviewed him. He is a great guy. Just an awesome dude to talk with. After the interview I asked if he was going to the Gathering of Mustangs as I wanted to get a photo of us together with a P-51. He gave me his cell phone number and said sure give me a call.

The meeting was great. Over 65 people showed up to hear Mr. Anderson speak and they were not disappointed.

I don't think he has aged at all in the last 15+ years. He looks great and is a wonderful story teller.

What an honor to hear him share his experiences.

Thank you Mr. Anderson
