Well the rain pretty much killed this airshow. It was raining when I showed up to open the plane this morning and rained off and on the rest of the day. I heard the F-16 and F-18 fly, three T-28s and the Legacy Flight with the Skyraider from Addison and an F-18. Weather is about the only thing that can't be controlled so maybe it will be better next year.

I never had a chance to make it down to look at the AD-5 because everyone was hiding in my plane to avoid the rain. Here's the rest of the stuff on static.

Nice pictures. Too bad about the rain. Great selection of aircraft on display. Thanks for posting.

Brad: Saw you guys come in for the show. I was hoping to be able to come over to that side of the field and see everything there, but work took precidence. Did you see the guy do the F/A-18 demo on Friday? I think if he flew any slower during the one part, a 65 hp Cub would have been hard pressed to slow enough to stay with him.

We had a unique view of the show both days, as we were just about show center for most of the acts.

Nice set of photos, Brad! Thanks for posting them. Good selection of modern military aircraft.

I was at VFM from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday. I saw bits and pieces of the Hornet demo from the apron in front of our hangar. Too bad about the rain. We ended up with quite a bit of it on our hangar floor (compliments of our @#$!%! leaky roof).

Cheers,

I did see the F-18 Demo on Friday, it was pretty good. Even better was the legacy flight with the AD-5. The F-18 is about the only plane that can make the Spad look small!

We should be taking off around noon or so, I'm sure family members will be at the end of the runway taking pictures so maybe it will be better than the average takeoff!

I'll keep my eyes out for you guys, assuming I'm not hard committed to something about that time. Sure wish the weather for Saturday had been like it was today. I'd rather been out flying or playing on the sailboat, but $$$ talk much better than playing these days.

Your C-17 and the Navy F-5 were the stars of the show. It was nice to see a Boss bird from Altus ... For us locals who see the NAS based aircraft all the time, it was a pretty lame airshow. I was out there all day Friday, great weather, and kept wondering when all the airplanes were going to come in ...
