Glen,

Don't tell ANYONE.... 8)

CAF-Gulf Coast Wing is aiming for late July or August for a test flight for TEXAS RAIDERS.

(Gulp... yes 2009!!!)

As always this is assuming there are no more major "gotchas!"

And we do have a piece of paper or two to fill out.

Great news Don !

You've made my day too !! :D

I promise I won't mention this at all when I fill in the loan application form to borrow the cash to come across the pond to see you guys when you start selling RIDES !

I may be talking "loft conversion" to the bank ~ but that'll just be WIXer code for "TR"

Just make sure to take a page from the Yellow Rose folks....do what needs to be done, target dates are good, but don't get a case of getitupitis. The updates are great and we DO appreciate them. It will be good to see her flying again!

That is a target NOT A PROMISE.

If it isn't right, we won't fly it.
And all's it takes is a hitch in the gitalong and we will be sliding all over the calendar.

BomberFlight... can you apply for an economic stimulus loan? 8)
Or possibly a scientific grant... "A Proposal to study the effects on Global Warming of multiple Wright-Cyclones making Big Stinkin' round engine noise" perchance?

It's been 14 months since Chuckie has flown. We're hoping to have her back in the air by mid to late summer, but that's tentative. And like the TR crew (and any crew worth their salt!), we won't fly her if something ain't right.

If anyone's interested in helping out, please contact WIXer "Crewdawg" (Bill Gorin, our new crew chief). Bill has a Chuckie thread going in the Maintenance Hanger (sic) section of WIX.

Cheers!

Great news Don, can't wait to see her in the air! We'll get that all Texas B-17 formation together yet! I sure hope that Thunderbird doesn't go down for maintenance about the time that we're getting airborne!!!

Dean, you beat me to it! You're absoultely correct, if it's not right it's not flying.
I agree Glen, Texas is a heck of a warbird state to live in! :supz: Come up to Ft. Worth and visit us sometime. Careful though, I might put you to work.

Hi Scott,

If you visit the VFM hangar, you'll see Chuckie and probably some of our dedicated volunteers working on her (and I'm sure Crewdawg will be there, crackin' the whip!). This weekend is my wedding anniversary (number 29! 8) ) so my time is spoken for by the only thing more important than warbirds.

Cheers!

Who me? Crack the whip? Nah! You catch more volunteers with donuts than vinegar. Or is that flies and honey...I dunno I always mix those up.
