First..Hi All. I'm new here. :)

Second:
I was told that this was a panel from an aircraft, but the person that gave it to me did not know what aircraft, and his infromation was second hand to begin with.

Any one have an idea what this may be off?

Is there any Part Number or identification marking on it? Possibly on the back side.
It only mentions fwd and rear turrets. Looks like they both have an In and Out mode. Are they retractible then?
Nothing mentioned about top or bottom so might not be B-29.
Neptune maybe? Early jet bomber like B-45?

What you have there is the face plate off a B-29 blister gunner's fire control box. Let me know if you'd like to part with it

it has what I assume is a part number on the corner. N.P. 110653

It has GE inspection stamps in the back.

Thanks!

I'd love to give it to a B-29 restoration if you know of one that need it.

Hey Roy, good to see you here!

If it is from a B-29 you could see if the Museum of Flight s restoration needs it. It seems like they've got quite a bit but that could always be a missing link in their project. If you want I can give you the email of the B-29 crew chief on the project

Hello Roy,

You certainly have a face plate from a B-29 blister system control box.

We have most of the B-29 turret system in our museum and our blister system box has a beat up front panel. Should you decide to part with the plate please keep us in mind. We would gladly buy the plate or trade something for it. Donations are also greatly appreciated.

We have the upper system operational and are collecting the parts to make the rest of the system work too.

Thanks,
Taigh Ramey

Geez, who knew this B-29 RCT stuff was in such high demand? I almost feel bad for hoarding this stuff now...well almost :D

Taigh, I have NOS face plates for the blister switch box available for trade, I'm looking for a nose box or face plate off one if you have one available for trade?

Hi Spooky!

That would be great. If they need it I'll be glad to give it to them.
