Flying around North Texas this evening and found this sitting in someone's backyard at Fairview Airport North of Fort Worth. Had not seen it before.

Our Antique Meeting will be at this airport later this month. Will dig up an N#.

Can't tell from the picture, Dan, but is that Glen Hyde's ol' Super DC-3?

Nope... just a plain DC-3. Has some red markings on it like the Canadian DC-3s wore. Racking my brain trying to remember the owners name. :?

I thought I saw Glen Hyde's Super DC-3 at Denton last week when Nine O Nine and Witchcraft came through? I live close by Denton, I'll have to check it out. Does anyone know if he still has his prize T-28C? I did some work on that several years ago, cockpit restoration, gear overhaul and a clean kit.

N472AF. My dads plane, he has the other flyable '3 parked on another grass strip in the Dallas area also, He is moving out of Gainsville, so all '3's and convairs need to go! if anyone needs Convair parts let me know one is being scrapped now

So what about the CARvair? Is it still in Gainsville?

Thanks!

I need to get up there and see it again before it flies off to some faraway place.

Used to be my dad's DC-3 here in Thunder Bay, ON, formerly C-GRSA. I put that machine togther from when it was completely stripped, back in 1987 in Ottawa, Ontario. Ron David, Thunder Bay, Ontario.

How much for a cockpit section? Zap me an e-mail, if you wish.

Made a run by DTO today after work and confirmed my suspicions. Glen Hyde's Super DC-3 is still parked on the south end of the ramp. Also noticed a nice little Luscombe. Sorry that the quallity of the pictures isn't better, I took them with my Crackberry, the fact that there were some major grassfires west of Fort Worth and west Texas was blowing into Dallas today didn't help either!
