Watch the video too...

http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=7205994

Boo, Hiss... GMA and ABC should be ashamed of such poor reporting... using Coast Guard service disposal as a basis of determining it's "Unsafe" - then using the accident involving a MALLARD as another basis.

Friggin media.

The reporters might be training for careers as Hollywood script writers. :x

Reading the replies over there restores some of my faith in the folks that get their news from old media. I wonder if the people who wrote the story will learn from the criticism? Or, if they even read the criticism.

I've had dealings with that Brian Ross guy. More interested in controversy than accurate reporting.

Ooooohh! Frightening Brian, frightening!

I think that ABC should retire those commentators due to their advanced age- I mean they could drop dead at any moment!

Yeah I saw this on GMA this morning...

1954 = UNSAFE???

They forgot to tell you that you should check under your bed for the Boogeyman.
Over 90% of all children believe in him.
So he must live under your bed!!!!

Oh yeah... don't eat Bacon on your BLT.

The deductive correlation that ABC News is using reminds me very much of that scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail:

Bedevere: "And what do you burn apart from witches?"
Villager: "More Witches!"
Villager #2: "Wood!"
Bedevere: "So, how do we tell whether she is made of wood?"
Bedevere: "Does wood sink in water?"
Villager #2: "No, it floats! It floats!"
Bedevere: "What also floats in water?"
Villager #1: "Bread!"
Villager #2: "Apples!"
Villager #3: "Uh, very small rocks!"
Arthur: "A duck!"
Bedevere: "Exactly. So, logically..."
Villager #3: "If... she... weighs... the same as a duck,... she's made of wood. "
Bedevere: "And therefore?"
Villagers: "A witch! A witch!..."

Long wing version has a spar life of 5,500hrs , short wing version doesn't have a life limit.
