Inside curtain...good question. On the back of the radio compartment facing aft..at least so it appears? Some sort of covers for the waist positions possibly? Just guessing.

Maybe if the plexiglass around the waist gunner get's blown out, they can cover it?

ahhh.., that is a beautiful way to fly indeed.

Of all the aircraft my father flew.,. from the Stearman to the T-33,

he loved any open cockpit the most!

I believe it is a Ki-48

I think they called it a 'Nick'. It was a modified twin engine light bomber. By modified, they mounted a large cannon mid fuselage on top at an angle. The intention was to fly up and under a B-29 and fire this massive gun at them.

In the event that did not work.., the ba$terds would just try and ram them.
