Here are a few pictures taken yesterday while I was at the hanger taking pics of the Lancaster restoration. (Those can be seen in this thread http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/p ... hp?t=28409)

Anyway here are the pictures. These first 2 are of the engines, these were donated to the CH2A by a man up north who had them in crates in his barn. They're not sure where he got them from but they didn't ask to find out. They are in great condition though.

Here is a shot of the fuesalage and on of the completed props.

And lastly here is one of the wheel wells from the wreck they got out west. It is badly damaged so a lot of it can't be used.

Next week while I'm at the hanger again I'll try to get some more pics and a more detailed update for you guys.

I guess I should probably add that the plane is only being restored for static display. It may be able to taxi when it's done but they're still not sure yet about that.

Oh. Yeah that part is in alright shape and will probably be fixed up and used but the rear of it as you can see in the 5th picture is pretty much ruined.

Here's a few more Mosquito pictures. I didn't get a chance to chat with anyone (everyone was very busy today) about how the project is going but I'm going to try to sometime this week.

Great photos, thanks for the update. Looks like the Windsor Mosquito Group has all the major parts. Is the wing original or also made new, like the fuselage, by Glyn Powell? Are most of the metal parts we see in the photos from CF-HMR? Please keep us updated! A challenging but ambitious re-build!

Thanks. I don't know a lot about this project since I'm mainly invilved with the Lancaster restoration. I do know though that the wing has been made new, I'm not sure by who though. Yes most of the metal parts are from CF-HFR. I'm going to talk to the project manager sometime this week or on the weekend so I'll get the answers to your questions and get a more detailed update.

Ok, I emailed one of the guys involved with the Mosquito to find out what is being done right now.

Currently they are working on:
- assembly of skins and other components on the wing
- assembly of the landing gear struts and wheels
- fabricating the wingtips
- completing the assmbly of the drill jig for fuselage panels under the wing

When I go on Saturday I'll try to find out more about the project.

Here's a few more pictures from today. There wasn't really anyone involved with the project around today to talk to, but I did find out the fuesalage was made in New Zealand, and the wing was and still is being made here.
