Took a drive to Sugarland to see the Collings Foundation Planes this afternoon and try out a couple of new lenses (still a long way to go on the photography part). Not many people there (which was great for us picture takers) which made it easy to tour the planes. Did get to meet and talk to several WIXers and even met a Huey pilot who served in the same unit I did in VietNam (116th Aviation Co-Assult Helicopter) but several years before I was there.
The Collings planes will be @ Ellington on the afternoon of the11th to Noon on the 13th and Hooks Airport in Tomball on the afternoon of the 13th thru Noon on the 16th.
See Collingsfoundation.org for time and fee for rides. Image

great pictures. I'd love to have those guys show up at my local airport. Do they ever venture north of the 49th?

I have several more of the Huey I'll try to put up tomorrow.
Camera is a Canon Rebel XT, using a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 on all but the last picture. Last with Canon 100-400mm.

Decided to add the Huey pictures while the Photobucket process is still fresh in my mind.[img]

My brother is going up in their B-17 as I type. He is in San Marcos, TX.

He sounds like a little girl on the phone right now. Very excited!

If he's going in the B-17 right now he's in San Antonio and just took off of 14 at Stinson... Will see if my cell phone pic turns out.

The last time I checked the website, the UH-1 will leave the tour after Tyler. So it will not be in Arlington or Dallas.

The B-24 was apparently having some engine No. 3 issues and did not go up
