Great movie. The A-6 used in the film as Devil 505 is in the Yankee Air Museum. Still has jake Grafton "Cool hand" markings on it.

Cdr. Camparelli: [Grafton has just been shot down while trying to rescue Camparelli] You think this changes anything, you hoodlum? You disobeyed another order! I grounded you!

Lt. Jake Grafton: Hey, I AM on the ground!

I like the scene when Cool Hand, Razor, Cole, and the others get back aboard the boat after leave in Subic Bay, and Camparelli is giving them an A$$ chewing.

"How did some one as stupid as you become a Naval Aviator!"

On the credits, it lists my dad's squadron (VA-128 "Golden Intruders") as one of the squadrons that helped make the film.

Great movie though.

"Fighter pukes make movies, bomber pilots make history!"

I also love the scene when they are singing "Downtown" after bombing the sam sites.

I really enjoyed the SPAD scenes in the movie...The old lady and I watched it again last week. Jay Cullum & I believe Steve Hinton were the pilots. Jay use to fly for Lone Star back in the day.

The PHANTOM SHEETER!

Jay Cullum used to tell us that once a month he'd get his check in the mail for residuals (reruns on tv and whatnot) from him doing the Skyraider scenes in that movie. The check came in like clockwork and was for a whopping $8.60 or something like that. :-)
