the 3rd pic..... the guy is wearing raf goggles. as for that walk around bottle...... hope it was made of light weight material!!!! a high altitude hernia!!!

Does anyone know anything about the last photo of the guy on the wing of the P-51?
Look at those mission markings! :shock:

How cool are those!
Looks like maybe a recon symbol or something.
Anybody have any other photos of those style and what they meant?

They are made of thin sheet and not to heavy. Doubles as an athletic cup for playing catcher for the ball games between missions.

i've bought & sold ww 2 aviation memorabilia for over 20 years & have never seen that specific walk around oxy bottle before. anybody got a designation?? it couldn't have been to popular even though it was light weight, in the cramped confines of a bomber fuselage

It's Capt. Dave Hearrell, Sqdn Ops Officer of the 111th TRS 68th TRG in Italy - the mission symbols are 'seeingeyes' each representing a mission over enemy territory

Very interesting shot. Don't often see the P-51A(oops F6B-hmmmm I'm a bit confused as to just which model this is?) models. Just not used to seeing those big barrels sticking out! Note the exhaust stacks as well. Very unique pic. Thanks for sharing. Wonder what color the "Snoopers" logo runs in? Just thinking, cool color profile or model to be made!
