Never heard of a CONVAIR PB4Y-2G?

P.S. Fancy seeing you here Mr. Voss. I just dug out some stuff on the PBM's in Truk and am putting together a post right now.

Don't shoot the messenger! (it's not my site!).

I thought the pictures were cool. The captions that go

Great pics.

Are there any surviving BELL XFM-1 Airacuda's?

Cheers,

Thank heavens, no. :D

A truly awful aircraft. A quick Google will throw up some interesting refs to it.

I guess I never really realized what the Airacuda was originally designed for. Sounds like a fairly big flop of a design. It's kind of got a charm to it though, don't you think?

I thought it was a light bomber. My mistake.
