Since legendary aussie and all round nice bloke and warbird owner Colin aka " Col "Pay died last December in Australia in a ag plane crash, his collection of warbirds - P-40K Kittyhawk, CAC CA-18 Mustang and A-37 Dragonflies and some other planes have remained at Scone airfield, north of Sydney.

Anyone know what or who will continue to operate his fine collection of aircraft?

Rumours have circulated thru sources i know that it was to be donated to TAM, HARS or other warbird groups but so far that has not happened and my sources havent exactly had any other information.
It seem like that it will remain with the Pay family and hopefully they will still be operated to see at airshows....

Warbirds Over Scone which Col had a great input to, tho only lasted 2 seasons was the best airshow in Australia for it time and has never been beaten since many have said. The 2nd airshow didnt go as well as the first but neverless it was great and well received by the warbird starved public in the 1990s.
One day NSW enthsuiasts are hoping there will be a another airport willing to have warbird again and hopefully cheap enough to run.

There are 2 semi major airshow for 2008 coming up - ironcially both in October and 2 weeks apart.. Coffs Harbour and Nowra.

Perhaps you could contact Col's son Ross with your questions:
