Hi Guys,

Anyone else beside me read the little article on the P-82 that was picked up from Walter Soplata's collection. I think Tom Rielly got it and it IS gonna be made flyable. Perhaps this may make potentially 3 complete and airworthy Twin Mustangs in the air. To my knowledge, the one that is with the CAF (or whomever these days), The one other one from Mr. Soplata's collection in Minnesota being restored, this last one now with Mr. Reilly, and if my memory is correct there is one up in Alaska that was rescued from a scrap yard purely by accident. I forget who has that one, but it does make one wonder if they could all get all of these together and flying at a single airshow....what a sight THAT would be huh ??

I really forget which magazine I read it, it could have been in Air Classic's, Warbirds International, FlyPast, Aeroplane Monthly, Warbirds Digest, or Classic Wings.

But of late, it seems that Mr. Soplata is portioning off his collection a bit at a time.

Just my .02 cents worth anyway.

Paul

I wrote a small article about it in the latest Aircraft Illustrated. It is going to be a flyer, and combined with some of Dick Odgers stuff from Alaska. There will be a lot of original material in her!

Cheers,
Richard
