...what markings would it carry? Why?

I posted this a year or two ago and thought I'd give it another go around!

Duplicate Bob Hoover's 1967 vintage scheme, bright yellow, black stripes and Rockwell logo.
Bright red with white trim
White with charcoal gray trim
Why?
I like civilian schemes on warbirds. If it wasn't for all the people who saved warbirds to use as "civilian" aircraft, we would have far, far fewer flying today....Some that come to mind...the CAF B-24A, almost all F7F Tigercats, a lot of Mustangs and Bearcats, B-25's, B-17's, A-26's.

This might sound funny, but I want an all bare metal D model, national insignias, just like from the factory. Maybe just my name on the canopy rail. Or a B or C model in Gentile's markings.

I've actually thought of this before.

Two possibilities:

1. If it were a B/C
'Salem Representative'
Ralph 'Kidd' Hofer
334 FS/4th FG
8th AF

2. If it were a D/K
'(unnamed/ Eagle painted on nose)'
Glenn T Eagleston
353rd FS/354th FG
9th AF

I'd research its history and then paint it in one of its actual wartime paint schemes.

Dean the originalist (is that a word? :? )

I'd paint it in such a way as to make it look more like a real fighter...

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

It's probably want either an RAAF or RCAF paint scheme. Being half Aussie and half Canadian I think I'd like either.

Trading for a Hurricane also sounds like a good idea. :)
