Hello everyone, Im not sure if this post belongs in here but here we go. Poking around the hangar we found this tank…maybe some type of oil tank?

The part number is 18-44-?-8

It has an overhaul tag stating “overhauled at NAS Quonset Point 1958”

That’s about all we know about it! Any help with this little mystery would be great!

It is an expansion tank for the nose fuel tank on a Navy Beech 18, SNB-5 or TC-45J.

The full part number should be 184402-8.

Maybe that's why it was overhauled- my bucket of propwash had a leak, got my box of grid squares all wet, and soaked my new roll of flight line...
