Does anyone know where you might get some tailwheel training near Champaign?

No luck at Frasca. This is for Butch's son.

Maybe at Rantoul?
There might be a private owner who does this training. Ask about any private owners at this airport.

I am not an instructor but I can get him started in my L-2. I just talked to Butch yesterday.
He didn't mention anything to me so give him my cell which I think he has and you too. I will gladly do it.
I have an instructor on my insurance that will sign him off when he is ready.

Best yet it's free.

Mike
