The Swamp Ghost complete with all it’s parts is now containered ready for shipment and will be repatriated to the US and eventually completely restored to where it will take to the skies again and fly independently under it’s own power.

That's old news. Look at the date on the article - 1 Sep 2006. That was before the current mess that Swamp Ghost is in.

Last I heard, some of the parts were stored under a roof and some are still on the docks at Lae exposed to the elements and souvenir hunters. Nothing has changed, the airplane is still a political "hot potato". I'll bet it will be there for quite some time.

so it'll probably rot away on a dock in png  .
i hope it'll never be flown as it will be just a replica of it self but a nice simpathetic static (as much original airframe as possible)would be great!!

What we need is the A-team to go in and remove in the plane in the dark of night, replacing it with a bunch of crumpled scrap metal.

Simple, quick, easy... Now who's got Mr. T's phone number?

Well, in the very least I wonder if we (WIX) could convince the PNG gov't to let us raise money to at least build a simple shelter to keep the airframe safe and out of the weather. Then again, they should be doing that. If they really want to keep it, maybe they should look after it.

Sigh... rant off.

I can imagine the list of people that would have to be paid off to get it out of the country gets longer by the day.

Maybe they would be open to a trade.
