Look, they even run away in formation! I think perhaps the negative is flipped, they should be headed to the left.

Intereting shot, Jack. Any background?

Hey, Albert, didn't the Frogs help the Yanks get rid of the Limeys? A bit cheap, I think, and while there were some serious issues with the French approach in 1940, I don't think anyone was going to beat the Luftwaffe with W.W.I tactics, a land border with Germany or without a Channel... The USAAC would've lost a lot of lives in as futile a fight, and done no better in May, 1940, had the Luftwaffe been coming over the border. Maybe the USN might've done better! It was the best naval aviation service in the world then.

Just been editing a book on Polish fighter pilots in the French Air Force in 1939-40. Sad reading. Mostly flying MS460s, they were pleased to get their hands on Dewoitine D-520s (as above) or Curtiss Hawks. However I got no comparison between the D-520 and the Hawk, and though the D-520 is one of the most elegant of early W.W.II fighters, it has a mixed reputation with Eric Brown for one having little good to say about it.

Excellent image of one of my favorite WW2 aircraft. I have made some time ago some search of this aircraft and also color profile.

Ok, ok, I take it back. It was a cheap shot.

Still, having a Frenchman on your side in a bar brawl would be like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

Oz got populated by white folks very similar to the US. Except we called our convicts "indentured".

I do, Jack, and probably a lot better than you do ~ I get to live with it every day. And so what?

I'd be interested in an answer to the question - what / where / when, rather than cheap shots. It's easy to beat up on people - takes a bit more skill to build allies and friends.

Where've you been Charles?

Not a cheap shot, just a fact of history.

Darn it James, why do you always have to bring political correctness and common sense into your posts? It's not about building allies and friends, it's about cheap shots and who you would want on your side in a bar brawl. I'll take Eric Downing. Jack, it looks like you get James. Good luck with that.

Jack, it shows a lack of respect to refer to the French as "french Flight". Use a proper term of respect like Snail Squadron, please.

You call me f^&#^& politically correct again, they won't be able to find the bit of fused glass that was your teeth in the middle of the ground zero... Grrrrrr.

If sense was so common, why'd we make such a fuss about it?

Once you've taken Eric D, what are you going to do with him? He strikes me as high maintainance...

I just want to know the darn story behind Jack's picture. What's so hard about that on a WIX forum, or did it become the pointless political pratfall forum and no one changed to name on the door?
