I'm currently in Japan for a few weeks and am wondering if there are any good warbird sights to be seen around Tokyo?

Hello,

In the Tokyo area, the Yasukuni Shrine is the best place to see a restored Zero fighter Suisei ("Judy"), Ohka (replica, etc.). There are also numerous artifacts, etc.

The only Tokyo warbird is the cool twin-seat Zero fighter at the National Science Museum in Ueno.

Lastly, collector Nobuo Harada has several Zeros, a "Betty" tail, etc. at his Auto Museum (near Mt. Fuji) but you can only see them in August every summer.

Japanese people sadly just try to forget their veterans and war.

I have not gone out of my way to research Japan yet, but I do have a few locations noted...

There is an A6M in Tolkyo.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.
