I have finished the Arkansas section of the Locator. I have a number of questions that I would like to get answers for, so I now turn it over to you...

http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Locator.php?Region=AR

If you follow the link look for the big red + signs on the right side and read the request for help messages. If you have any info to contribute just click the red + and you will be taken to a form where many of the fields will already be filled out but you can also provide corrections and/or new information. I will also include the "Need Help" entries below. The goal of this exercise is to…

#1: I try to make the map links as accurate as possible. In other words I would like to see all map link accuracy indicators in the green.
#2: Improve the data for all locations.

Exact locations are preferred (but not necessary). If you know the exact location but don’t know how to get the coordinates you can get those from two sources. Source #1 is Google Earth…

Source #2 is Google Maps…

I am looking forward to any assistance you may be able to provide.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Here is the “Need Help” list…

#1: Bull Shoals - There may be an AH-1 displayed at a VFW hall in Bull Shoals. Can you confirm? If so where exactly is it?

#2: Camden, East Camden – The Southern Arkansas University Technical Branch has a number of ground instruction airframes. Where exactly are they? They may be located at Harrell Field. Can you confirm? If so which hangar does the university occupy?

#3: Fort Smith, Barling - Apparently there is an AH-1 displayed at a VVA in Barling. Can you confirm? If so where exaclty is it?

#4: Fort Smith Municipal Airport – Are there P-2 Neptunes water bombers based out this airport? If so do they below to an aerial fire fighting company? If so which company?

#5: Harrison - There may be a F-84 displayed in Harrison. Can you confirm? If so where exactly is it?

#6: Holiday Island - Apparently a VFW in Holiday Island has been allocated a UH-1. It may, or may not, yet be on display. Can you confirm? If so where exactly is it?

#7: Hot Springs - A better map reference is needed. In which building is this restaurant?

#8: Little Rock - There may be a Sabre displayed at the Zoo. Can you confirm? If so where exactly is it?

#9: Little Rock, Jacksonville, Little Rock AFB - One source indicates a C-47 and RF-4C are displayed here. Map references are needed for the airframes. Where exactly are they?

#10: Little Rock, North Little Rock - It is assumed the airframes at the Pulaski Technical College are ground instruction airframes. Are they accessible to the public? If so where exactly are they?

#11: Pine Bluff, Grider Field – The Commemorative Air Force Razorback Wings is based here. Which hangar at the airport does this CAF wing occupy?

#12: Siloam Springs - There may be an A-7 displayed in Siloam Springs. Can you confirm? If so where exactly is it?

#13: Springdale - There may be a UH-1 displayed in Springdale. Can you confirm? If so where exactly is it?

#14: Texarkana, Texarkana Municipal Airport – There appears to be a pair of Lockheed twins. Are they static airframes or airworthy? Who do they belong to?

#15: Walnut Ridge, Walnut Ridge Municipal Airport - Does the Walnut Ridge Army Flying School Museum have any aircraft in the collection? If so where which building does the museum occupy?

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I believe there used to be a T-33 on display in Spring Lake Park in Texarkana but it might be on the Texas side of the border.

Yep! That one is in Texas.

So does no-one on WIX have anything to say about the Arkansas loocations?!?!?!

I have never been to Arkansas myself. Is it generally avoided or something?
