I've been watching the Liberty Belle web site to see if they were offering rides this winter but it's still showing the end of season tour dates ......

Last year she was based at the Fantasy of Flight Museum in FL, does anyone know where she is over-wintering this year ?

I have asked this question to the Liberty Belle group and I still haven't heard anything. A rumor was that she would be at Palm Springs but I haven't heard anything from them either :(

Well isn't this just great, Finally we have a "flyable" B-17 in our state, and it gets based all over the place except it's home state.

Firstly, last year it spent the winter 06/07 in Nashville (Smyrna) where a new instrument panel was constructed and installed.

It was the winter of 05/06, that we flew at Kermits.

This year its somewhere else, not in Georgia, or CA, having other maintenance and installations performed.

Thank you... well, I must admit, that I am a frickin' idiot, as I didn't discover this site until recently, and generally don't read anything printed by Challenge Publications, so I didn't know the 17 was in Nashville (Smyrna) But now I got you guys who are in the know and in the Loop to be my aid in Navigation, My rotating Becon, illuminating the darkness of despair in my search for warbirds....*make note to self -- look around*
Thanks B25PBYGUY

Very nice photos! One thing that I have always wondered... why don't they do something about the tailwheel? I have never seen a photo of it retracted... and it just looks odd to me. Is there a reason why they haven't fixed it?

I was gonna mention that about the tail wheel too, but abandoned the thought.... What doesn't the tail wheel retract?

Not to speak for them, but from what ive been told by there pilots is that there are some issues in getting the wheel to retract and they didnt want to get into fixing it while on the road. They will work it when they get home some time this year and refab some parts needed are trade for some needed parts??? Hopefully.

Thats what I heard but when I talk to there crew again, Ill get the low-down from them and post it.
