Hi everyone,

With the amount of folks who flock South for the Winter, I am hoping to get an informal gathering of WIX members around the AZ or CA area in January of February. My hope is to get some of our West Coast-ers to join in and have a chance to meet some of your fellow WIX buddies in person.

I want to make it as central of a location as possible, to be fair to everyone, but I am pretty partial to the Phoenix area. I was thinking a weekend gathering at one of the museums or collections in the area (Say CAF AZ or Pima) and then closing with a dinner (BBQ at a fellow member's place or at a restaurant with adult beverages).

I am thinking perhaps the middle of February? If we were to have something like this, who is interested in attending? Can we sweettalk some of you from Kal-ee-forn-ia or Colorado to Bob Barker (come on DOWN!) to Phoenix? How 'bout Texas?

I have heard from reliable sources that our fearless leader ScottWRGeditor would be interested in coming along too... so nows your chance to see the great one in person!

Perhaps we could even make up some t-shirts for attending... you know, "I went all the way to Phoenix for WIX and all I got was this lowsy t-shirt!"

We all know that February is a great month to unthaw those wings and loosen up those vocal cords for a summer of hangar flying... so what d'ya think?

If you are interested, reply here and give your suggestions for social activities!

Thanks!

Ryan - WIX Cruise Director

This Missouri boy is in! Hey, if Pooner would clean his place at Falcon out you could hold a hanger dance there! Just ordered a WIX tee-shirt the other day, but two would be cool. Need a cool looking decal for aircraft.....Gary

I'm in for either Falcon Field or Pima, but then again, I'm just a hop, skip, and a jump away!

That's still a long way to go from Vancouver, BC. Maybe we can meet at Jack Cook's. That's more within my range... :)

Cheers,

David

Heck, maybe we could work some kind of Gathering out here in Midland. B-29 tour maybe? Just a thought.

Sounds interesting. This retired person could jump on a plane real easily. I'll give that some serious consideration.

Gary...all due respect to youse troops in Midland, and I'd love to see the place, but I can get to Europe easier than I can to Midland.

Yeah, I hear ya. I get that all the time from would be volunteers. All I can tell you is that Southwest has a direct flight out of Vegas and Dallas, American Airlines out of Dallas, and Continental out of Houston. :?

Sorry.

Gary,

Won't you have to be making some "inspections" on the AZ CAF birds soon? I mean, the B-25 is nearly flying and all! I'd say its a perfect time to come out courtesy of the company and do some "inspections"!

Wink wink, nod nod, bob's your uncle...

Good point. I'll have to look into that. :)

It's been suggested to hold a gathering in Palm Springs at the time of NWOC... how many WIXers would be interested in that concept? I know that some of us non-pilots or non-mechanics might not be going, but it at least is fairly central and gives a rally point?

Let's hear a roll-call for anyone interested!
