Are those things being put together or are the being taken apart?

It sort of looks organized and sort of not. Nice straight lines here, and utter mayhem there... They must have been in some sort of a hurry.

2060 Wacos, 916 Horsas.
The US wanted to use the 2160 Wacos we had but only had 2060 pilots.

As Jack will probably tell you, the winner gets a Pony. I got mine a few months back for identifying a Japanese fighter.

Jack, I'm very happy with the pony. I named him Russell and he's quite happy living with me and girlfriend in our little basement suite. Funny enough Russell also spends countless hours on WIX when I'm at work.

After seeing all the work that went into the CG-4A restoration at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo, I'm amazed that they were considered "single-use, throw-away" aircraft! Theoretically, they could be retrieved and re-used once the landing zone was secured, but the AAF generally regarded them as expendable.
