i read in the most recent edition of general aviation news (2 weeks ago) that 1 more attempt will be made to locate fossett before the harsh winter conditions arrive in the area in question. it involves high tech aerial scanning in ultra high definition via satellite & computer. i don't know the specifics or technology, but they are doing something entirely untried from other previous search methods. hope it gets results.
Is anyone here concerned that if they were lost in a similar fashion that the search would likely be far less thorough? Who pays for all of this? I guess that Amelia Earhart got special treatment as well, assuming she wasn't on a clandestine mission of some sort...
