Is it a Rufe? The first pic looks like a Pete.

Looks like a Zeke with the tail propped up. I think the bipe in the background is a Nakajima E8N "Dave," possibly re-equipped with an inline engine. It's definately too skinny for a Pete.

What interests me are the Hinomarus (meatballs) on the Nell. It appears to either be very faded, or to have been deliberately painted out. At first I thought maybe the photo was simply bleached out, but the Zeke in the background clearly has red insignia.

A Zeke on blocks... maybe he was strafing in Philadelphia. :)

Cool footage!

why is there an overall grey A6M still around in 1945? A training aircraft would be green over orange by this point, wouldn't it? And a front-line aircraft would be green over grey or natural aluminum, so does this indicate a ground-instruction or decoy A6M2 or A6M3?

Interesting pics!

cheers

I think it's an ALF (Kawanishi E7K - Type 94 Recce seaplane), the tail looks about right and it looks like it has a 4 blade prop.
