I woke up this morning to an inch of snow. UGH UGH UGH, I rather listen to a T-28. It is not real cold, about 38* F, but is still snowing lightly, and is gloomy. The atis is few 200, overcast 1100, vis 3, in fog and mist, temp 04 C. I think I must be officially old as I used to be excited about ski season and glad to see the snow. We had such a nice Indian Summer type Fall, that I am sorry to see it end. The leaves had stopped up the drain on my second floor deck and water was leaking into the house, fixed that, can't get much energy to tackle any real paperwork. Wish I had a nearby show next weekend as the plane is good and I am current. I took a friend of a friend for a ride Fri am and it was an almost perfect day. Easy to fly, easy to smile, and the Longhorns won, didn't look too good, but those Iowans are good hosts.

If my employer would pay enough, we'd be up there in a heartbeat.....it's a heck of a lot cheaper to generate the amount of heat we need for our living areas vs. the cost of air conditioning them to the needed temps.

Besides, the other half misses snow.

You can have it, I'm looking forward to not seeing any until January!

I woke up Saturday morning at 6am and it was 37 Deg F. :(
Today, Shannon had a work cookout/B-day party on a beach in Beverly Farms, MA. (North of Boston) I think the high today was 65 and it felt really chilly when the sun went behind the clouds but it was another gorgeous October Day.
Mulled Cider and dark Rum, Smores over the fire pit.

Its gonna be a long winter!

It was in the 70's today here. Bring the Spit to WV and we can hangar it here for the winter, you can come in and fly it a few times. I've got the space (probably room for 2 or 3 more airplanes in the hangar with the Legend Cub and the Bell 47)

Mark, thanks for the invite, but you have me confused with John Denver, it was him who wanted to go back to W V, ie "Take me back, country roads". I should not complain, I live in a great place, just not so primary for aviation, unless you consider those condos with wings out at our airport as planes. If you need any volunteers to fly that Cub clone, I can do that. And when my knees were younger ski racing was a great thrill. For a Texan to be able to do that is sort of like being able to fly warbirds.

Pleasant 70s up here in the desert - spent the day driving to and from Tehachapi to the auction of Jack Palance's estate; unfortunately his B-24 flight manual was sold yesterday. My friend got Jack's '52 Rolls Royce, and I got a glimpse of the Mojave airport - not as many derelict airframes as I expected; have they been cleaning house?

I think it's supposed to reach 90 here in San Antonio today and the evenings have been in the 70s. Overall this has been a really nice year with only a couple of days near the 100 range. 'Tis great weather for flying the Arrow.

I'd like to comment, but I already received an insulting PM from someone in this thread regarding the sound of a T-28. I don't appreciate the arrogance, and from now on I will only read these threads and not respond to them! :x

Sorry to hear that, T28Guy -- while I'm no big fan of T28s, given the choice between that & snow, I'd pick the T28 in a heartbeat!!!
