Hello All,

When narrating her unit's C-130 demo, Austin Wadsworth's daughter summed it up best. When in her response to Jim Hare's comment on how Austin built this great show, she added that he built it "twice"! So true. We followed our favorite cornfield airshow to Batavia, lost it again, and then in 2002 it was back on the radar with a nice turnout. I thought it was great in '05, but this year was definately the best so far and was just as good as those shows of the late 80's and early 90's.

I'm confident the word will get out even further from this point, and am hopeful that even more warbirds will be in attendence in the future. (My first show in '88 had 6 B-17's and 5 P-51's).

I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet Scott, Ryan, Tim, Airic, Bill G and only wish I had more time to talk to you guys. I chatted with Dale Snodgrass, Dan McQue, Bob Baranaskas, and Austin. There is no place like Gennie. Everyone was in great spirits, best of luck Austin and I can't wait til next year!

Here are some of my shots from the weekend.

Pete

Nice work Pete. It was great meeting you. What a great collection of aircraft this year and some pretty nice flying.

Eric

Pete--

Roger that! Gennie '07 was not "almost like one of the old shows": it WAS like one of the old shows, precisely. Everything aligned: the old Beech cameraship back at HAG; significant CWH presence for the first time in ages, et cetera...Well done to the Wadsworths and the whole HAG team, and welcome back "Big Gennie", we sure missed ya! Roll on '08...

S.

It was truely an excellent show. I thought that Saturday was almost boring, but Sunday really kicked some dust. Chris Baranaskas in the P-51 has my vote for the best performance of the week-end. Wicked stuff!

It was very nice to meet everybody, especially Tim and his Tail Hook beers...

I'm still going through my shots, I'll post the best when I'm done.

Before I got onto WIX I didn't even know what Geneseo was.

Over the last little while, reading posts and admiring pictures, Geneseo is probably "THE" airshow I want to go to. I know Oshkosh is probably pretty neat, and there are other good ones too, but something about the simplicity and beauty the Geneseo show make me more interested in that airshow than any other.

I need to figure out a way of getting there some year. I'm glad to hear from the above posts that it has had a rebirth, and that the future prospects look really good.

Cheers,

David

Ollie,

That was my impression initially on Saturday. My first thoughts were "Gee the fighter display is pretty subdued?" And pretty short to boot. I think that had a lot to do with the B-2 which was holding for it's slot at 4:15pm. Unfortunately we left on Sunday at 1pm for our 7 hour drive back to Long Island. We got in Friday at noon. It was my first Friday at the show and I thought it was great. It had a party atmosphere, like when everyone first gets to a family reunion!
