Eh! You remembered. Thanks. I’m not having too much fun as I’m on the call desk all weekend. I made that decision so I could have next Friday off for Thunder arrivals. Then I’m on holiday and plan to visit the USAFM and then arrive at Geneseo by Wednesday. Nothing like five days on Geneseo turf, I hope my wife can handle it :roll: Man, I can’t wait for 5pm on Thursday.

Yep, 1812-14. This was "Upper Canada" then, British territory. And not since those battles (one of them a naval engagement in what is now Burlington Bay a quarter mile from my house) between American and British forces, has there been warfare in what is now southern Ontario. I wonder how many inhabited places on Earth have been free of warfare for 193 years and counting...We're blessed, I think, to live in a place where our forebears actually did learn a lesson from history.

(BTW, off topic, but there are several American Civil War veterans buried in Hamilton Cemetery.)

See everybody in a couple weeks at my favourite Canadian airshow...

(I so love driving through the little towns on Rte 63 heading for Gennie and seeing Old Glory flying from all those porches and flagpoles...)
