Warbird Information Exchange

With permission from the family, I am posting this. Tony Markl, former Vietnam War USAF Skyraider pilot, tail-wheel instructor pilot, and fabric expert, was killed with his wife Pat in a car crash this week. For those who flew with him, you had no doubt where you were- you either made it or you didn't. His fabric work was excellent. I was honored to know him personally and will really miss him as a friend, a pilot, a mentor. They don't come better than this. He will be missed by all.

The family has not made arrangements yet and will contact me when they have them finished. I will post them here.

REMEMBER THE SERGEANT PILOTS!

This is Tony's daughter, Lise. We are holding a memorial celebration in honor of Tony and Pat this Saturday, May 5, at 1 p.m. at their home and airfield. They always said they wanted a party, not a funeral, so we are having friends, neighbors, and family come raise a glass and share good memories. We trully appreciate the many wonderful notes that have poured in from the aviation community near and far, and have printed them in a booklet for the event.
