It is with a tremendously heavy heart that I pass on the sad new of Billy's passing. He was a great volunteer and loved working on the Corsair. I personally met Bill in March of 2010. I never thought that I would have the chance to work next to my grandfather again (he passed in 95). Turning wrenches with Billy, hearing his stories and watching his skilled hands work will never be forgotten.
I along with the rest of the Corsair Restoration Team salute his memory and celebrate a life well lived. We will miss him tremendously and are thankful that we had the chance to know him.

William Digney
William D. Digney of Fairfield, passed away on Sunday November 18, 2012 at the Fairview Health Care of Fairfield. Mr. Digney was born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Benjamin and Claire Digney. He graduated from Bassick High School and was a retired employee for Chance Vought Aircraft and Sikorsky Aircraft. He was a volunteer after retirement at the Sikorsky & the New England Air Museum in as well as the Connecticut Air & Space Center in Stratford helping with the restoration of both the VS-44A flying boat and the Corsair. He will be remembered for his Antique and classic autos and as a consultant for the Huppmobile Auto Club. He also wrote articles for various Antique Auto Magazines. He was predeceased by a brother Edward Digney. He is survived by his sister Leah Digney and several cousins and a special cousin and friend Christopher Batter and his wife Betty. Friends are invited to attend his Funeral on Wednesday at 9:00 am at the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Ave, Bridgeport. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Their will be no calling hours.
