Just joined today, made a post, and now making this one to get to two and avoid any mistaken spam filtering. Of course, intentional spam filtering, after judging my posts to be lousy, will be up to the moderators . . . 
Although previously employed by aviation manufacturers and MRO providers, I am not an aviation expert or guru as most of the members appear to be. I am primarily motivated to join because of the discussions I see relative to the Amelia Earhart disappearance.
