New on Board-question relating to a De Havilland Vampire.

Tue Mar 06, 2012 1:00 am

Hello,

Being new to the board I have looked over some of the members previous posts and am amazed at the amount of information you guys have, it's great.

I thought I would throw this question out to you guys as I keep hitting brick walls with it and was hoping someone out there may have some answers.

I recently purchased a RC model of the De Havilland Vampire and wanted to change the colour scheme of it to match a historic aircraft. Once known as the oldest Jet flying the De Havilland Vampire Mk3 with the serial number N6878D,C/N: EEP42390 unfortunately had an accident and from then has ceased to exist off the web. I was hoping to match the colour scheme of this plane. I do have images from airliner.net etc of when it was last flying in 2009, but no pictures show the top of the aircraft properly, only little bits of it.

I am asking if anyone has any images of this aircraft that are not on the web. Particularly the top of the aircraft, or if anyone knows the actual colours used on this plane. Images can only tell some of the story, I am hoping some of you may be able to fill in the gaps.

Any help really appreciated.
