Introduction from Houston

Fri Jan 01, 2010 12:11 pm

I am an active pilot, life long aviation history enthusiast, and serve as a volunteer for and president of The 1940 Air Terminal Museum at Houston's Hobby Airport.

The museum is located in Houston's original art deco air terminal, and in a 1928 vintage hangar, which is the oldest building on what is now Hobby. The focus of our museum is civilian aviation history. Our collection includes a 1943 Lockheed Lodestar (N31G), a 1958 Sikorsky S-58, and the forward 30 feet of a DC-6, which we are currently restoring.

Our museum is open 6 days per week and hosts a themed fly in open house on the third Saturday of every month. We are an almost all volunteer organization and are always seeking more volunteers.

I invite you to visit us on the web, on Facebook and at the Museum.
