Hi All,
Can some one tell me what the difference is between 24SO and 24ST Alclad? I'm guessing it has something to do with the heat treatment it has received but I'm not sure. Are these outdated specs? If so, do they have a modern equivalent?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

O-condition means annealed (soft). 24ST is what is now known as 2024-T3. The T means it is tempered (heat treated).

ANC-5 is the old specification calling out 24SO and 24ST.

Alclad is just a pure aluminum coating that does not affect the strength but affords improved corrosion resistance. You can get many different aluminum alloy sheets with or without cladding. An extrusion would not be clad.
