Seems like it has been around for a while. I'll bet it is expensive! It says something about laser fume extractors and filters on their site. I wonder what the hazards are? |

I wonder how that would work on detecting innergranular corrosion?Seems to me it would uncover the corrosion very well. |

Not sure what it does to oxidation on Aluminum, but it removes rust on steel. One of the websites says that their biggest model only costs about $4/hr to run & looking at the speed of that thing you could probably strip the paint off a P51 or Huey in a day. One video showed it removing paint layer by layer on a piece of aircraft wing so if you had an historic piece caked in paint & crap you could reveal original nose art etc. |
