Need some help with a part ID

I need help identifying the above part. Rumor has it that it belongs to an F-84, but we don't know if that is true or not.
It was found in an attic of a hangar. What is it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That was my first guess, too. I'd sure like to find out where it belongs
