This may be the wrong area to post this. Has anyone noticed lately that National Guard units have been flying more than usual? The guard base around here has been very active here lately. Normally the F-16's would only fly on Tuesday and maybe Saturday, this past week and a half they have been flying everyday and most nights. I wonder whats up!

They could be in the middle of an inspection, or their two week drill or just needing flying hours.

As indicated before, the most likely suspects are - they're about to be activated for deployment, they're on their readiness inspection, or they're flying off hours that they need to return to currency now that the DoD budget has finally been signed and they have money with which to get their currency with that's been missing for most of a year.

I've always got VAQ's flying over the house from N.A.S. Ault @ Whidbey Island with squadrons returning and other outfits converting from EA 6B's to the much noisier EAF-18E 'GROWLER'. The biggest noise was last July when John Sessions was out in the area learning to fly the Mig-29 he sold to FHC, that puppy is NOISY!

We had one of the Osprey's fly over a couple weeks ago and MAN that thing sounds strange, mmmm, part airplane and part demonic device! :D
