Post subject:  Canadian Avro Anson exhaust required

Hi all,

A friend of mine needs a replacement exhaust for his Cessna 195, which has been re-engined with the R915 330hp Jacobs L6MB. Does anyone know where we might be able to purchase an exhaust off an ex-Canadian Avro Anson Mk II or III? A number of people have fitted them to their L6 powered Cessna 195's. Apparently you need to get it from the correct side of the Anson so that the exhaust is on the left side of the cowling. We think it was the Anson's right hand engine.

Any leads or help that could be provided would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt,

Three possible leads come to mind.

The National Air Force Museum of Canada (formerly RCAF Museum) in Trenton, Ontario is currently restoring an Anson Mk II.
They have already restored the engines/undercarriage/nacelles so they might have parts left over.

Another possible source is the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, as the aforementioned Anson project came from them.

The third lead is the Bomber Command Museum of Canada in Nanton, Alberta.

Not sure if any of these museums will have spare exhausts, but it's a start.
