Knocked up a few of these today, one for home, couple for work etc..:

Used it on a 3 barrel Bendix from an R2800, this was all black before, as seen on the top right side.

I also did a set of 28mm Smoothbores from an old '78 Kawasaki KZ1000 & they came up looking like the Solex carb in the link.
My backyard now looks like there was a mini blizzard & I consider the $10 on materials & soda well spent.:)
I used a box of soda the same size as the one in the link as thats the biggest they had at Fart & Smile, er sorry, I meant Smart & Final. Will be checking out how big of a box they have at Costco on the next trip there.

The original black paint on the outside of the carb body etc was removed with plastic media a few weeks ago. This carb is destined to become part of a coffee table :)

It's only a problem for people with an aversion to warm soapy water ;)

....& SPI doesn't exactly have a sterling reputation in the car refinish business....

Water your lawn pretty heavily and the soda will soak in and sweeten out some of the the alkalinity of the soil, just might improve the back lawn a bit!
