These are Douglas "Special Bolts' I do not know the material or length . They are for exhaust collector ring. I believe they are low carbon steel.. Douglas Part # ---- DIA/Thread 141831-4-6 ---- 1/4-28 141831-4-14 ---- 1/4-28 141831-5-26 ---- 5/16-24 can anyone get me an AN or MS number? |

I think that had an AN or MS number been available they would have just used that. What makes you think they are low carbon steel? I would guess they are Inconel or CRES. |

I'm just going by the description in the manual.. It says LC Steel. |

Maybe that is "Low Corrosion" Steel? |

My metallurgy expert tells me that low carbon steel would be inappropriate for an exhaust area. I'm still checking on those part numbers... |

Usable replacement bolts would be AN4C/AN5C or NAS6704/NAS6705. Dimensions and dash numbers are the same as for an AN bolt, only the material is different. Send me your e-mail address. The drawing was originally released in 1934 and the bolt is made from corrosion resistant steel bar. |
