These are Douglas "Special Bolts'
I do not know the material or length .
They are for exhaust collector ring.
I believe they are low carbon steel..
Douglas Part # ---- DIA/Thread
141831-4-6 ---- 1/4-28
141831-4-14 ---- 1/4-28
141831-5-26 ---- 5/16-24

I think that had an AN or MS number been available they would have just used that.
What makes you think they are low carbon steel? I would guess they are Inconel or CRES.

I'm just going by the description in the manual..
It says LC Steel.

Maybe that is "Low Corrosion" Steel?

Possibly. Either way the AN #s will cover it.

My metallurgy expert tells me that low carbon steel would be inappropriate for an exhaust area. I'm still checking on those part numbers...

Usable replacement bolts would be AN4C/AN5C or NAS6704/NAS6705.
Dimensions and dash numbers are the same as for an AN bolt, only the material is different.
Send me your e-mail address. The drawing was originally released in 1934 and the bolt is made from corrosion resistant steel bar.
