Long time no see, eh! My computer blew up and it took till now to have the readies to buy a new one. At 79 years young the ready cash isn't always ready. Have now got a Hewlett Packard with Windows 7. At our Aviation Museum, we are in the last stages of raising the deposit to buy the land outright. If you remember, some time ago, I told you about our landowner retiring and the company that took over put our ground rent up from £400 per annum to £1,200 per annum. Any donations gratefully received!!!!!
On to more interesting things. We are beavering away restoring a Link Trainer, the design of which was started in America. The electronics are in poor condition and we are having trouble getting hold of the valves. It is an interesting project. Did I tell you, my wife and I are into breeding Miniature Poodles, we had a lovely litter of five last year and the little girl is pregnant again, no stud fees, we have our own stud dog.. Thats all for now, I'll keep in touch.

Ken

Ken,

Some of the crew at the Vintage Flying Museum in Fort Worth are restoring a Link trainer, too! James Kelly is restoring the electronics and he is making good progress. What valves ("vacuum tubes" to us Yanks) and other electronic parts do you need? James and I are amateur radio operators, and we are both into restoring tube-type ham, CB, and military radio gear. James is also big into tube-type audio equipment. We have plenty of resources and contacts within the electronics hobby, so we may be able to help you out.

Cheers!

Hi.
Thank you for your kind offer. We were offered the valves by a British firm that worked out at £10 per valve. If you can help us, how much would the carriage be to the UK. I have to check the wax capacitors and the electrolytics yet, the valves are as follows.
5Z4G 1off.
2D21 1off
6J5GT 1off
6SL7GT 1off
6V6GT 2off
BT19 2off Thyratron.
Let me know how things are and I will get in touch with the Museum curator.
Thank you.
Ken
