Hi All

Thought folks would like to see the rebuild of a PT-19. This is going to be a large undertaking and it is a good time to see how one of these planes was built. We are pretty far into it but there is a long way to go. I will post some more photos as we go along if anyone is interested. Here we go.

These are the outer wing spars with the spar web removed. The webs came off pretty easy.

Right now we are about half way through the wing/center section rebuild. These next couple of photos show our method of reconstruction. This way there is assurance that the flaps and ailerons line up.

Here are some details of the center section

OUTSTANDING MARK!!!!
Yes please keep posting as I know my friend will want to keep tabs on this. As you know right now he is on his way to pick up his PT from Rico.

I had to laugh 3 days ago cause I just realised that it was his BT project that I had been drooling over on barnstormers. Not that the family needs another BT.

Post some pics of yours when you get a chance.

Mark,

Looking good.
Do you have two PT's undergoing restoration (photo #1, appears to have two fuselages).

Once I get done with my Yak-52 & L-5 I am restoring, I have two PT-19's to do (3 center scetions).

Also when I get time, I need to check on printing the new IPB that I have written (like modern IPB's).
I also need to get the blueprint info and complete the parts interchange manual that is almost done.

Laterrrrrr

Mmmmm, mmmmm, mmmmm! Delicious photos my friend!

Pay attention folks! Nobody does it better. Fairchild didn't even do it this good.

Hope you and yours had a Happy Thanksgiving Mark!

Steve

Post subject:  Map Case for PT-19

We're after a couple of document/map cases for a PT-19, one for the front pit and one the rear. Does anyone know of any which may be available?

Thanks,

George

Very interesting shots Mark! Great stuff. Nice shots of the Spars and of all the framing.. never seen
anything quite like that before all stripped down. Looks like its coming along nicely. Looks like
you have some more room there in the new hangar? And the BT13 looks like its coming along nicely.
Need to come visit again one of these days when we get back out that way.

take care,

henning

Guys

I have a fairly large large amount of Fairchild Cornel spares up here in Canada. Some came directly from the factory
If anyone is looking for items please p.m. me
The best way is to send me pics or drawings of what you need

Thanks
