Here are two photos of a brake assembly with pads (2 rows of 20 pads make 40 per brake assembly).
The next two photos are of the inner and outer brake assemblies on a B-17 wheel.

OK, aero wrenches... can anyone tell me how many individual brake pads are on a B-17? I am guessing 160 -if one retainer holds 40 pads and there would be 2 retainers per wheel? ..so 80 x 2 wheels, right? I saw the tires changed on Aluminum Overcast once but my photos don't show the number of pads very well. Thanks, Dave |
