I'm with the Commemorative Air Force,in Mesa,Arizona. We have a B-25J that needs a jump seat. I've contacted Aero Trader and several others,no luck. If anyone can help we'd sure appreciate it. thanks,Chuck |

Thanks for asking. basically the aircraft is ready to fly,no major problems. The FAA was out about a week ago to meet with everyone involved and look over the aircraft and the paperwork. So we have our homework to do! No definite timeline,but baring any unforseen situations early spring wouldn't be out of the question for takeoff!!! |

Great to hear, I've been out for the dance a couple of times, but the last time was about five years ago, and have been waiting to see her since.... Good luck. When you get the paperwork weight equaling the weight of the airplane and get to fly, you will have to put out some pictures. Thanks again

Just a question, and please don't take it as a slam, slight, or cut, but is parking a recip with the props feathered, an acceptable method of parking, does this method cause any stress to the feathering drive? Again, just a question, as I have rarely seen an aircraft parked with its props feathered. |

From the "new condition" of the blades, it appears that the props were just installed. Hydramatic props are installed in the feathered postion, and set to the low pitch using the feathering pump. OV-1 Mohawks and PT6A powered aircraft automatically goes to feathered upon shutdown due to the feather springs in the props. This is not an unusual sight in this instance. |

Ah thanks for the responce, yeah I recall that the MoHawks feathered now, I used to watch the Mohawks like a hawk at Ft. Huachuca when I worked there as a Tower Controller, many times they would start to taxi out and I would observe that their engine cowlings appeared to be unsecure . God did I love working at Libby Tower . Thanks again.

Jack I can't answer the question of the jump seat. However they are awaiting the FAA blessing to begin the flight test process. I believe the aircraft is ready, just in need of the almight blessing. Chris |

Looking at the Maid's registration history, I think she was a sister ship to the Yellow Rose. John Stokes brought two to San Marcos around '76 from Dothan, AL. We are in the process of getting a jump seat made for the Rose from another one that we borrowed for a pattern. I'll check and see what it's going to cost. I "heard" that John Stokes bought 5 B-25s from Hugh Wheelless in Dothan. The ones photographed below, with the only exception being the third from the left which I believe is N9443Z that Dik Shepperd and Norman Knight bought for around 2,500.oo From the Collection of Gary Lewis
