Hey Brad: Photo two looks almost like she had 130 J props installed....by the way, how did you end up with the extra blade in that pic? I don't figure that you guys were flying that close of formation work.... :)

Nice photos and congrats to all involved.

Emailed Mr. Jamieson concerning FIFI.., this is what i got back.

"We called the number you provided a few times and the line was busy each time.

Mr. Jamieson will be glad to talk with you about this. His direct line is 940 320 3006."

I am going to call him and hear his side.

Information was provided by several of the B-29/B-24 squadron leaders several years ago after Mr. Cavanaugh stepped up on the question, the gist of the story was that in some respects the "cart was placed before the horse" and that his pledge of support was conditional on some things occurring that ended up not because of the recession. Beyond that, there were some rumors, but I will not say anything because that's all they were to me - rumors. If there is more to the story, I'd hope some of the B-29/B-24 crew can post here about it, but I don't think there was any intention on the CAF's side to paint Mr. Jamieson in a bad light, just the victim of bad timing.

After Brad's most eloquent words...... WOW! I can't say anything about "FIFI" except for this...... Every single seat on "FIFI" was filled with riders on all 10 flights! Your help in getting the word out about riding in the B-29 is just as relevant in getting her airborne...... because with your support we will keep her "IN THE AIR!" More dates may be coming soon (for 2010) and if so, it will be a surprise.. No decisions yet, as I don't make those. Chris (Flying Sailor) will let us know!!!!!!!!! Brad, it is always good to see you and Kristene at the shows....... Kudos to everyone.........
Alan

There is still no intention to paint Mr. Jamieson in a bad light, by me or anyone. I'm quite sure he's an honest man. What has always bothered me is that nothing was ever put out, as far as I know, that refuted the story that he was putting the money up.

I just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that in spite of the press for Mr. Jamieson, it was Mr. Cavanaugh that saved the day.

My cell phone takes some weird pictures. I took one of the C-17 cranking up and the blades look like they are coming out of the cowling.
