To Gary and your helpers, Sponsors and your supporters, Ol' 927 looks great and the artwork is magmificent. You can all be very proud. Keep up the great work........it's very, very worthwhile.

And to Al, thanks for posting the photos of the Devil Dog. As a 20+year ago Sponsor I, along with others, put in some blood, lots of sweat, money and anguish gettin' the Dog nosing around the air again! Last I had heard the Dog broke a hind leg and it was indefinate when or if it would be fixed. Glad to see it huntin' again at Midland.

Thread Name Change needed to "Ol 927"

Django, thanks for posting the pics. I actually could see your ones but nothing else. I was busting here waiting to see what she looked like and it was great to see after all these months and hard work by Gary and his troops.

To quote the Australian...... "BLOODY FANTASTIC"

Now when does she come Downunder??????????

Gary, having revealed the nose art, finally gets some sleep.

That reminds me of that picture of the guy laying on the ground with a P-61 in that background and holding a paper that says "nazi's quit."

Notice that Gary is looking at Ol' 927 and all the work that still needs to be done. I don't think he really ever sleeps!
When this photo was taken he was actually waiting to receive a gift that was given from a B-24 veteran to the Ol' 927 project.

Gary had the B-24 erection manual tattooed to the inside of his eyelids. He is just studying up for his next move.

While I'm taking care of some waaaay overdue paperwork, articles, and general housekeeping around here, I thought I'd just post a quick photo that I took and found humorous this weekend. Fellow WIXer and Warbird magazine publisher, Tim Savage, will go to any length to make sure his son, Job, gets the chance to shoot down the bad guys.

I'm sure many of you can come up with good captions for this one...

I'm working on a couple more posts for y'all, hopefully a little later in the day. Included in them will be the process of painting the nose art on the airplane and a neat story about a "new" piece of the airplane that we've just installed.

Oh, here's another picture taken on Saturday morning, just after some early morning engine runs...........

Chad,

I do have a photo of the actual unveiling. I took it with a FILM CAMERA (hi Gary!) so will have to get the film developed first. No idea how it will turn out as a couple of meatheads cut off my line-of-sight when I was shooting. If the shot turns out, you'll be the first to know.

That is a great pic of you, Gary. Very cool.

Thanks Scott!

Dude! What is that? You know I was just laughing the other day about the fact that my kids won't even know what film is.

Hey Scott, is this yours? We were using it as a wheel chock, but someone said it was a picture takin' device from the 70's. You were the only one that's been around here that I could think of that would still be using something like this.

Okay, back to the subject of Warbirds now.
