Good question. They are both pretty intense inspections. The F86 has to have the engine removed every year to service the oil filters, fuel filter and a hot section inspection. Also the engine bay is packed with hydraulic components that need to be checked and repaired if necessary. Then there's the normal airframe inspection items. The A4 will have to undergo a condition inspection every year, plus phase inspections at 75 hour intervals. The engine should not need to come out until 250 hours for it's hot section inspection. It will get much more complicated when we have a live seat and canopy. That adds about 50 pages to the inspection program. I hope this helps. Our inspection to get the A4 airworthy included a condition inspection as well as a large number of items due to the storage time (18 years).
