Hope everyone enjoys it, and let me know if you have quesitons, but I figured these 86 photos would be enough for now :)

She should be home to Camarillo by End of May this year.

Maintenance starts immediately to get her ready for next season and paint as soon as possible!

Great! Thanks for the link. Interesting with all those detailed shots, will study them closely.

I saw these ex-Israeli birds at Villeneueve during a visit in 2002. Great fun.

Anyone have any listings of c-47's in combat other than Michael N Ingrisano's book. That is a great book buy the way guys, of the history of his time in the 316th!

Im still looking for the carrier unit it was in during the stinit inthe 12th.

not yet firm, but the talk is the exact same paint scheme she should have had in the MTO with the 12th, the olive drab with white/grey bottom, with possibly invasion stripes partially installed on such as the photos you see after dday where the stripes were painted over on top to avoid the Luftwaffe on the ground, so you see the stripes on the underwing and underbelly up to the stars and bars. We think that would be a nice tribute to her during the times, and it would be the only one painted that way to help educate upcomers, and get them to ask the question, "Why are the stripes painted over on top of the plane". It'll spark curiousity!

According to my database,This aircraft has actually arrived to the Israeli AF in May 5, 1950.It received tail number 14-07 and the fictive call sign 4X-ADA for flights to Europe.
Transfered to Arkia Airlines in 9 Jan 1955 and was used with the same C/S.When the October 56 war broke out,It was drafted to the IAF and used with Arkia Crews.
When returned to the IAF (Probably in 1965) it received S/N 007 and C/S 4X-FNA.WFU with 17,568 hrs logged.

Thats great to hear!

Can I ask your source documents on this information for the restoration and historic value?

Thanks!

***ATTENTION***

The specific date of the aircraft's arrival has been set, and it wil be on May 23rd or 24th 2008. Updates will come to fill everyone in on any changes and the time of arrival.

It will be arriving in Camarillo,Ca by sunset on the 24th at the latest.
For now parking is still being arranged but most likely to work something out with the CAF to host the plane on there ramp for a few weeks until we get parking squared away. Hopefully will be parked next to our B-25, but until the airport or EAA ( who has 2 planes in the spot now) can come to an agreement, we are still debating parking.

Anyone who works with the CAF who can help us with free parking for awhile please feel free to PM me. I figure we help each out enough it shouldnt be a problem. Let me know. Im sure you make enough money off donations giving tours of our B-25 it should cover our short term parking time there:) hahah!

If your with the EAA, let us know what we have to offer up to get those spots back to park the girl on next to our bomber.

We hope to have something setup for food and beverage and a get together for its arrival. More info will come as dates and times are firmed up.

Wanted to give anyone interested the chance to plan to come out.
