Re: Let's say I wanted to build a B-24 nose

ZRX61 you read my mind, right down to the depth I want to make this thing. I've also thought about sticking door skins or something on the buck when I'm done with the nose panel to get a sort of 2 for 1 deal. Sure the second nose will be wood but paint it OD and nobody will notice from 20 feet back.

Of course I'm getting ahead of myself here, first thing is to get myself a B-24 model. Well, the REAL first thing is that I have to find a new home, which I'm in the process of doing right now, then work can start on my bomber.

Have you tried the Simpit guys? They have a lot of knowledge about building replica aircraft structures..Do know there are a couple B17 pits have been done..Also there are a few Avro Lancaster cockpit sections that have been built.

That will be pretty awesome. I have considered the same thing, but my free time is nil. So I settled on buying some C-47 cowlings to paint up. That was 2 years ago.
